Chromatic or Diatonic?

Hey there,

When I started this blog, I meant to update it more often than this. But this weekend has been, and will continue to be, extremely hectic. I had a band clinic starting on Friday, which was an overnight and only just finished at four in the afternoon earlier. I won't say it wasn't a good time, but all of this ridiculous music theory is overwhelming. I play bass drum. I don't even read music! Is this scale chromatic? How the hell should I know? What about diatonic? Do I even care? I play one note repetitively. I don't really see the point of having to learn all of this if I'm never going to apply it? I shouldn't say that. I'm sure there's a point to all of this. I guess we probably all need a level for Band Comp, but still. Whatever.

I'm in Victoria as I type. I'm here for the Pacific Cup swim meet. I'm swimming tomorrow, so maybe I'll write about that tomorrow. I won't be home till late, though. Oh well, no one reads this anyway.

A new beginning?

Hey all,

So I've been doing some thinking, and figured it might be cool to start a blog. Not so much to please others, but as something to look back on a few years from now. Starting high school, I've realized the days seem to be going by faster. Might as well capture a few every now and then, hmm?
